Holotropic Breathwork®: Non-Ordinary States of Consciousness & Why It's Attracting Attention
Holotropic Breathwork®, developed by Dr. Stanislav Grof in the 1970s, has been recently featured in as diverse media as the New York Times (“Breathing Their Way to an Altered State”), in numerous medical studies including at the National Institutes for Health (“High ventilation breathwork practices: An overview of their effects, mechanisms, and considerations for clinical applications”) and as a “beauty” article in Vogue (“Why a Breathing Technique That Makes You Trip—Without Drugs—Should Be Your New Year’s Resolution”).
Dr. Dia Lynn, who studied with Dr. Stanislav Grof and became a facilitator in Holotropic Breathwork in the 1980s and has lead groups in Hawaii, Prague, California and Colorado, will cut through the hype to help us understand breathwork as an invitation to healing and awareness. She helps us understand Breathwork in relation to non-ordinary states of consciousness. Dia will place Breathwork in its context, function and possibilities. Join us as we explore how connecting our breath may be the key to healing our past in this growing “avant-garde” treatment.
