The Embodied Feminine Retreat
If you were on fire from within. The moon lives in the lining of your skin. – Pablo Neruda
Over the past 5,000 years the collective state of human consciousness has been one of cerebral hypermasculine consciousness that has separated us from our feminine origins. We have been taught to judge our bodies, to deny the messages from our physiology, and to negate how the body communicates to us. We have moved out of our natural harmony and rhythms and have learned to look outside of ourselves for our sense of belonging and security. We have come to rely on logic and reason rather than our own deep innate internal wisdom.
The human body is infinitely intelligent – it holds the blueprint of our soul. Yet we have dismissed and disconnected our bodies from our states of consciousness. And we are suffering greatly for that now. Our bodies (or matter) actually “hold” our consciousness. And in every moment, our bodies are communicating to us about our consciousness in its instinctive and primordial way. But we have lost our connection to the vast wisdom, to our intuition, to our inner knowing.
“Scientific geniuses such as Albert Einstein were in touch with their feminine qualities of intuition and knowing – most of their potent ideas came from unanticipated flashes of inspiration, emerging spontaneously from the vast creative potential of the feminine unconscious mind, the root of primordial consciousness, rather than the logical mind.” – A. Bertrand, M.D.
This is a time in the world of “embodied awakening”. A time where we have collectively been given the gift to come out of our perpetual state of disconnection, dissociation, over-use of logic, individualism, and disembodiment into states of active engagement, and empowered actions that are guided by cooperation, collaboration, compassion, connection, and inter-relatedness. To awaken, we are asked to go beyond our personal experiences and into the collective memories – into our epigenetic imprints of our inherited fear and suffering. In this process we will be asked to access our emotions to heal the wounds that lead to our experience of separation and isolation.
We are being called to honor our feminine essence, called into the vibration of love and non-judgement. Called to surrender to the ebb and flow of mother earth and our natural rhythms again. We are being asked to be open to love and to trust love. We are being asked to be non-hierarchical, kind to one another, and to create a sense of belonging for one another.
We are being invited to feel the language of our soul through the body, to think through embodied cognition, to feel through embodied emotions. This is the process of embodied awakening that we are being invited into at this point in our existence.
And in this alchemistical transformative process of embodied awakening, we can call upon what Carl Jung describes as the elemental archetypes or energies that are inherent in each of us. He notes, “each of us potentially has all four of these functions (or elements): fire (intuition), earth (sensation), air (thinking) and water (feeling) – at our disposal.”
When we are in touch with ourselves through these elemental archetypes releasing the emotional, energetic, and physical contractions that prevent us from feeling our full aliveness, we will find a great energy that flows through us. We will feel increased vitality, creative expression, and great pleasure. We will feel a magical sense of interconnection. The more attuned we become with the body, the more we will experience our authentic expression of ourselves that came before our childhood and cultural wounding and conditioning.
This message is offered as a gift to you as you navigate your journey towards embodiment. My wish is that we all have the capacity to experience ourselves as beautiful creatures and living organisms who can love, thrive, inspire, and create a world that is fully awake and fully embodied.
