Biofield Science

Advancements in the fields of neuroscience and psychoneuroimmunology, and systems of biology are expanding our understanding of the mind-body connection. Science is starting to consider a more integrated perspective on health that expands current models of medicine to allow for the wisdom of ancient methods of healing when considering our health and states of wellness.

Biofield science is bridging the gap between ancient philosophies such as Ayurvedic, Chinese, Native American, and Tibetan to consider the core components that facilitate healing. Current mind-body practices such as yoga, mindfulness or meditation, acupuncture, QiGong, and touch-based methods are steadily gaining recognition and evidence as helpful adjuncts to our current models of health care.

The term biofield has been accepted as a medical subject heading by the National Library of Medicine. Organizations such as the Consciousness and Healing Initiative (CHI) defines the study of Biofield Science as an exploration of the view that molecules, cells, and organs of living systems communicate via fields of energy and information that serve as additional means of self-regulation to maintain health.

Biofield Therapies are noninvasive therapies in which the practitioner explicitly works with a client’s biofield to stimulate an organic response that returns the body to its natural resonance of health and restoration.
